Fears Watches Luxury Wooden Packaging

Fears Watches, one of Britain’s oldest family-run watch companies, was originally founded in 1846 in Bristol and revived in 2016 by Nicholas Bowman-Scargill, the great-great-great-grandson of the founder, Edwin Fear. Known for its elegant and meticulously crafted timepieces, Fears blends traditional British craftsmanship with modern design, offering watches that celebrate heritage with contemporary flair.

We collaborated closely with Fears to develop their design for the presentation box, creating a luxurious case that reflects the brand’s dedication to quality and British craftsmanship. The box is crafted from oak with a rich dark blue stain and a matte lacquer finish, featuring beautiful marquetry inspired by the Union Jack to underline the British origins of both the watch and the box. Inside, the crisp lining securely holds the watch, which can be lifted out to allow the box to be repurposed, providing both practicality and sustainability.

Finished with luxury hardware, the box includes quadrant hinges and a push-button release clasp, adding a refined touch to the overall design. Subtle branding elements, such as laser-etched details on the exterior and embossed branding on the lining, maintain a clean, sophisticated look without contrasting colours, perfectly aligning with Fears’ ethos of elegance without ostentation. The result is a presentation box that not only protects the watch but also reflects Fears’ legacy of craftsmanship and understated luxury.
