Bushmills 46 Year Old Whiskey Box

For the oldest Irish single malt ever released, presentation needs to feel like provenance, not packaging. Bushmills 46 Year Old, Secrets of the River Bush, pays homage to the River Bush, the water source at the heart of every drop of Bushmills since 1608.

Manufactured in close collaboration with the vision of Studio Minerva, the outer case is built from solid walnut, chosen for its depth, warmth, and natural authority. The sculpted hexagonal form takes inspiration from The Giant’s Causeway, while the layered surface reads like landscape through a seven-colour marquetry composition. Each layer is a separate veneer, intricately cut and arranged into flowing, topographical contours that reference the river, the village, and the surrounding terrain. This creates an elevated, tactile narrative you feel before the doors even open.

A matt-gold river decal runs with purpose through the composition, catching the light like a thin current on dark water. It is a restrained luxury cue that anchors the story, mirroring the river’s path to the Old Bushmills Distillery and the ancient landscape beneath it.

Inside, the bottle is presented on a strong hexagonal plinth reminiscent of the basalt columns of The Giant’s Causeway, surrounded by a gold-mirrored interior. Hidden magnets hold the accompanying booklet neatly in position.
